San Francisco, CA

This retail shop offered ski, tennis, and hiking apparel and equipment in 7,000-sq.ft. of a converted department store in a prime downtown location. The owner’s requirements for visual openness, street appeal, flexibility, and a neutral background for the display of boldly colorful merchandise were the primary design determinants.

The display window features a full-height open well in which the featured merchandise is suspended from a fly grid. Platforms and balconies are constructed of steel frame, finishes are painted gypsum board and acrylic carpeting, and balusters are steel and glass. Lighting is incandescent track and display fixtures are clear glass and acrylic sheet.
